Students admitted to the graduate program of the Mechanical Engineering Department will typically receive funding in one of the following forms:
- Teaching Assistantships are awarded by the Graduate Program Office. All applicants requesting admission into the PhD program are automatically reviewed and initial offers, with Teaching Assistanship funding, are made to selected applicants based on their academic record and department need.
- Research Assistantships are awarded by individual faculty to support continuing students. However, newly admitted students could also receive RA funding, depending on the needs of the research programs of faculty members and the strength of the applicant's academic record. Faculty Research Profiles are available in two power point presentations here and here.
