Image-based Multi-scale Modeling Framework of the Cardiopulmonary System: Longitudinal Calibration and Assessment of Therapies in Pediatric Pulmonary Hypertension

Project: A collaboration between UoM and MSU, the goal of this project is to develop a multi-scale, multi-physics computational model of the cardio-pulmonary circulation using longitudinal data acquired on cohorts of pediatric pulmonary hypertension. The model will be the first of its kind because it will be able to describe the bi-directional interactions between evolving ventricular and vascular biomechanics and hemodynamics using human pulmonary hypertension data. Once developed, the model will be used to investigate the effects of different pharmacological therapies for pulmonary hypertension.
